Statement A states that x + y+ z = 89

Then there will be one conclusive value of x^2 + y^2 + z^2 that will be the absolute minimum value that it can take for x + y+ z = 89.

From a DS question point of view that information is sufficient. Hence, statement A alone is sufficient. Choice (1).

That minimum value will be achieved when x = y= z. But such a value of x, y and z will not be integer values.

Hence, the next best option is to have the numbers as 30, 30 and 29.

Note to answer this DS question this additional knowledge is not necessary. This is for sake of additional information, should this appear as part of a problem solving question.
